Mark spoke at this webinar presented by the Scarborough Health Network Foundation (SHN Foundation), operator of  3 major community health hospitals -  Scarborough, Centenary, and Birchmount.

He presented “Charitably Speaking: Maximize Giving, Minimize Taxes” and explained several great ways to convert income taxes to charitable gifts, and why you don’t have to be rich and famous to be a philanthropist.

Mark presented “The New Philanthropy” at the Advocis AGM and Holiday Recognition Event.

Advocis is The Financial Advisors Association of Canada.

Mark explained how he helps clients convert tax dollars into generous charitable gifts and create enduring philanthropic legacies for their families.

As a member of the SickKids Foundation Professional Advisors Council as well as a corporate sponsor, it is especially gratifying that Advocis has agreed to donate $10 from every ticket sold to SickKids Foundation. 

Our corporate goal is the creation of $100 million of charitable donations annually, working with clients, generous donors of non-profits and collaborating with allied professionals like lawyers, accountants, investment and insurance professionals.

Mark was a guest speaker at the 2nd Annual Cross-Institutional Lending Conference presented by Gowling WLG Hamilton

The event was attended by approximately 300 commercial bankers and financial professionals from across Canada.

His presentation "Is Philanthropy In Your Business and Estate Plan?" described the strategies we use to help clients preserve wealth and create generous charitable gifts using financing and leverage strategies.

Our corporate goal is to create $100 million annually in charitable donations working with clients, generous donors of non-profits and collaborating with allied professionals like lawyers, accountants, investment and insurance advisors.

Mark was a guest presenter at the Virtual Summit “Evolution of Estate Planning“, a unique event featuring more than 50 speakers, spread out over 5 days between November 18th and December 16th

More than 500 accountants, bankers, lawyers, insurance advisors, and other professionals from across Canada and the U.S. are expected to attend, and hopefully they will be inspired  to become more involved in philanthropy, and bring us closer to achieving our corporate objective of raising $100 Million of charitable giving annually.

Mark was a featured speaker at a unique invitation-only Zoom event Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation.

He presented “Tax Efficient Strategies For Philanthropy” and explained how to make generous tax-advantaged charitable gifts.

November is Financial Literacy Month.

As a Media Ambassador for FP Canada, Mark was interviewed by Jeff Sammut for his Canada Talks show on SIRIUS XM radio (channel 167).

They discussed the results of a recent FP Canada survey on COVID‘s financial impact and what people should be doing right now to get their affairs properly organized.

Mark returned for a 3rd time as keynote speaker for the 2020 Canada Sales Congress.

In contrast to previous years, it was a 2-day virtual event.

Since its launch in 2013, the Canada Sales Congress has filled the void that developed in recent years in the area of quality sales development training for financial advisors.

The event gathers insurance professionals from across the country to learn from leading successful advisors from across North America

Investors Digest of Canada published Mark's article "Build a no-limit tax-free savings account". The article explains how to build a No-Limit TFSA for yourself and your business and other strategies to preserve your hard-earned money for family and the charities you care about, instead of the CRA.

JAZZ.FM91, Canada’s premier jazz radio station, and a not-for-profit registered charity, invited Mark back for another on-air interview with afternoon drive host Brad Barker.

They discussed several planned giving strategies, such as donating appreciated marketable securities, bequests in a will and gifting Life Insurance policies.

Investors Digest of Canada published Mark's article  "This too shall pass: Shaking the bug". The article contains several important estate planning recommendations to implement right now.

JAZZ.FM91, Canada’s premier jazz radio station, invited Mark for an on-air interview with afternoon drive host Brad Barker. They discussed the importance of estate planning during the COVID pandemic and why it’s never been easier to get Life Insurance, now available without medical underwriting, all in a 15 minute phone call.

As a member of the steering committee for the third year, Mark will return as a moderator for the 3rd Annual High Net Worth Invitational Forum presented by the Northwind Professional Institute at Langdon Hall in Cambridge, ON.

The event is an exclusive gathering where like-minded professionals share best practices to provide the most up to date estate planning, wealth preservation and insurance solutions for clients.

Mark was appointed to the St. Joseph's Promise Legacy Council, a group of community leaders and like-minded professionals helping to raise more than $100 million to help St. Joe’s meet the health care needs of Toronto’s west-end community.  

Mark returned to the Zoomer Radio studios for another episode with Libby Znaimer on her Fight Back show, where they continued their discussion of wealth preservation for retirement and the importance of proper estate planning to maximize assets and minimize taxes.
