Mark returned to the Zoomerplex for another live appearance with Libby Znaimer on her “Fight Back" call-in show.

They discussed the important topics that most people avoid: death, taxes and how to avoid them.

Mark was the keynote speaker for the 7th annual SickKids Professional Advisor Network breakfast hosted by SickKids Foundation.

Sharing his experience with 100+ professional colleagues, he explained how to have the philanthropic conversation with clients and how to use creative, practical planning strategies to maximize giving and minimize taxes.

Mark is a member of the SickKids Professional Advisors Council, helping to raise $1.3 billion to rebuild the hospital. It's the largest fundraising goal in Canadian health care history.

He explained tax-advantaged strategies to expand planned giving activities and raise much-needed funds for St. Joe’s Hospital, a beloved community institution founded 100 years ago in Toronto’s west end.

Mark was Libby Znaimer’s guest at the Zoomer Radio studios for a live appearance on her "Fight Back" call-in show.

They discussed estate planning, taxes and maximizing an estate.

Mark's presentation “Charitably Speaking: Maximizing Giving, Minimizing Taxes” explained several strategies to leave more for family and charity instead of the tax department.

Investor’s Digest of Canada published Mark's article “Life Insurance Options: Borrow, Rent or Buy". It describes several ways to acquire life insurance, including a strategy to acquire life insurance without tying up money on insurance premiums.

Mark was a faculty member and participated in the curriculum development of a new professional designation program for financial advisors active in Philanthropy: Master Financial Advisor - Philanthropy, “MFA-P™”

The “MFA-P™” is of particular value to advisors working with high net worth clients, and those who want to be responsive to the investment preferences of clients who include social impact in their investment policy statements.

MFA-P™ candidates will study our CPP Philanthropy™ strategy as an integral part of the program.  

The online program was developed by The Canadian Association of Gift Planners, The Knowledge Bureau and Spire Philanthropy.

Mark was a keynote speaker at the Wealth Stewards annual conference for CPAs at the Millcroft Inn in Caledon, ON.

Wealth Stewards is a boutique firm of wealth counsellors for Canadian families and businesses and winner of the 2017 and 2018 Global Financial Planning Awards for Canada.

The event was attended by Chartered Professional Accountants and financial professionals who are committed to the holistic financial wellbeing of their clients.

Mark presented creative philanthropic strategies to preserve clients’ hard earned money from too much taxation while supporting favourite causes using money that would otherwise go to the tax department.

Mark was the keynote speaker at an invitation-only breakfast event for professional advisors and non-profit organizations hosted by The Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto.

His presentation “Philanthropy for Your Clients” explained why being knowledgeable about gifting strategies and addressing clients’ philanthropic values are essential skills for every trusted advisor. The session focussed on how to begin the “philanthropic conversation” and how to include tax-advantaged philanthropy in clients’ overall financial planning.

Mark is the incoming Chair of the Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) at the Jewish Foundation.

Mark was the keynote speaker at an invitation-only breakfast event for professional advisors hosted by St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation.

Mark delivered a "Ted Talk" at Moses Znaimer’s ideacity Conference in Toronto.

Now in its 20th year, the annual event has rightly earned its reputation as Canada’s “Premier meeting of the minds.”

Mark's talk  "The New Philanthropy", in the Disruptors category, explained the democratization of philanthropy, how ordinary people can use tax dollars for charity to create lasting legacies and inspire future generations.

Mark returned a 2nd time as keynote speaker for the 2019 Canada Sales Congress.

The event took place at The Beanfield Centre, Exhibition Place, Toronto.

Since its launch in 2013, the Canada Sales Congress has filled the void that developed in recent years in the area of quality sales development training for financial advisors.
