Happy to report another new $1 million charitable gift of Life Insurance.

Michael Flux of Connor Clark & Lunn Private Capital is a dear friend, MFA-P, and fellow founding member of the Professional Advisor Council at SickKids Foundation.

He contacted me recently about a client with a $1 million life insurance policy that was no longer needed. The client was interested in further funding his family’s charitable foundation, so his children could continue the family legacy in perpetuity.

We worked closely with Denise Castonguay, founder and CEO of Canada Gives, to structure the client’s generous gift to his family foundation.

Thanks also to Dennis Serre of Serre Financial for providing policy valuation services. 

The client received a charitable donation receipt for almost $225,000.

 All future premiums paid to fund the policy are considered charitable donations and will save the client even more taxes every year!

This generous act of giving brings us closer to achieving our corporate goal of raising $100 million of new charitable gifts annually working with our clients, donors of charities and foundations, insurance advisors, investment firms, and other special allied professionals like Michael Flux.
