Happy Father’s Day!
This post is dedicated to my late father, of blessed memory, who died of a sudden heart attack in 1974 at the age of 50.
At the time I was 11 years old and the youngest of four boys, and I still remember coming home to the sight of a police cruiser in our driveway and hearing the tragic news. In a sudden and shocking instant, our lives changed forever.
There was no life insurance, no will, no key to a safety deposit box and no savings to speak of. My late mother, of blessed memory, was then 48 and forced to re-join the workforce to support us.
I can never forget what happened to my family - it fuels my passion about this incredible profession devoted to protecting you and your family from life’s certainties and uncertainties.
We are all busy with plenty of stuff on our personal to-do list. Most people don't have the time, knowledge or inclination to deal with difficult subjects honestly and right now
Planning our vacations and researching a new car is way more fun.
In 23 years of doing this, I've learned that most people just want honest answers to 3 questions:
When can I stop working if I don’t have to?
Will my family be okay financially if I get sick or die?
Will my family inherit a mess and will the tax department get a lot of their money?
In honour of Father’s Day, please consider setting aside some time to getting your own answers to those important questions.
Here’s the gift part: Get some peace of mind by downloading and completing the free Estate Planning Toolkit available here at my website.
The Toolkit now consists of 4 elements (we added a new one this week):
Estate Directory
Estate Planning Checklist
Executor Duties Checklist
Business Owners Planning Guide
I look forward to helping you too.
Stay healthy
