Charitable planned giving is my favorite professional pastime.
Given the choice, most people would prefer to pay less income tax and leave more to their favourite charities.
Life insurance provides the most affordable way to make a significant charitable gift, so it’s always very gratifying to assist my clients in their philanthropic endeavours.
I am delighted to tell you about a recent case that involved my client Dr. Jonathan Bishinsky.
Following a thorough review of Dr. B’s insurance portfolio we concluded that he had too much life insurance (that was not a misprint!).
I explained the benefits of gifting the surplus policy to charity instead of just cancelling it.
He took my advice and gifted the policy to four worthy causes.
Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, one of the happy beneficiaries, recently published this article about Dr. B and his generous gift.
There are many options available for making a gift of life insurance – no two cases are identical.
Do you want to be remembered as someone who made a large gift to charity or as the person who paid a large tax bill to the government?
Do you know of a charitable organization in need of professional help with their fundraising?
I am now working with several groups who sought my help in developing planned giving programs.
Please be in touch if I can be of service to you or your favourite charity.
Thanks in advance
